7 years ago on September 19, 2013, John and Jaisa first met, at the fair through Jaisa’s best friend. One week later they started dating and their lives would never be the same. They shared with me some of the great things that happened as well as some of the heartaches that they have gone through together including the passing of John’s dad. Several years after meeting, in Puget Sound, John would ask Jaisa to marry him and of course she said yes!
However, at the time they would have no idea what the year of their wedding would bring. During the last year we talked a lot about what was important to them in their wedding and how they would celebrate. I never thought there would be so many restrictions by the time they got to their special day. Or that they would have to go through so many different things this year just to get to their best day.
Through it all they remained so positive and understanding of every different part of the day. When I first met Jaisa in the youth group that Kyle and I were working in and she was so much fun as a high school student. I loved her perspective and positive personality and that hasn’t changed at all. Two of the first things I noticed about John was how much he loves Jaisa and how calm he was. Seeing how much emotion he shared with us on that day was unforgettable and I’m so happy they found their perfect match.
Getting to document one of the best days of the rest of their lives was something Kyle and I were thrilled to be a part of and the day didn’t disappoint in the slightest. The day took place at the Fox and Goat ranch and after 2 weeks of smoke in the air it was almost a miracle to have clear skies and fresh air. Throughout the surrounding area there were reports of rain but in the middle of the gorgeous Reardan wheat fields we never saw any of that. Instead there were these magical sunbeams that appeared in the clouds right before the ceremony which was so amazing! During their engagement session (that ended in rain) a rainbow appeared, I’ve never had a couple with two weather events like that! For this day I loved getting to work with:
