This year looks very different for everyone, but one group that my heart is especially sad for is my seniors. Every year I love getting to know the graduating class of the following year and since my first two years of school counseling were spent with high school students it’s always encouraging to see how far students come. I know first hand how hard senior year can be in a regular school year just making sure that you help kids check all the boxes for college or post graduation plans. The class of 2020 was in 6th grade when I first moved to Brewster. Which means I’ve been able to see some of them for half of their school career and that’s crazy to me!
Daniela was in 7th grade when I first met her and she has always had the most calming and peaceful presence about her. She is gorgeous inside and out and we had such a great evening celebrating her accomplishments, even though now that celebration will look different than most of the thoughts she may have had since that 7th grade year. Amazingly she is in 3 college classes this year and I’m sure she will do incredible things in her next adventure at Washington State University.
