Kayla’s Orchard Maternity Session

Last fall, Kayla and I conspired a surprise to tell her husband and kids that she was expecting their baby and it was one of the most exciting/nerve wracking sessions that I have ever done! I knew our plan and was kind of the one leading the surprise which actually made me far more nervous than the normal role I play in a session. It was a blast and I love the fact that she allowed me to capture that epic moment.

Amazingly enough I found out I was pregnant shortly after that and our due dates are only about a week and a half apart so we have been in this journey together since the beginning. Based on that I knew it would be great if I was able to do a session with her before the baby was due. So I convinced her to dress up and come do a session with me! I know it can feel strange to dress up when you’re in the final stages of pregnancy which for a lot of people can be the harder part. However, I have found that even if you’re not as much of a fan of this type of session in the moment, it is something that you can’t get back after that precious baby is here and it is a way you can go back to that moment forever.
