This love story almost didn’t happen. The first date for Brittany and BJ is what they both referred to as the worst first date, based on situations that happened during their time together. However, they decided to try again and by the third date they both realized they should continue their relationship and I’m so glad they did! We had never met them before their rehearsal dinner and as soon as we walked in I knew we were going to have the best time with them. My husband first met BJ through their mutual love of sports cards on Twitter and it was so fun for me to meet some of his friends from that community.
While we were there for the weekend I was able to watch the video of BJ proposing at the Grand Canyon, which was the sweetest and big props to him for having someone record it! Their entire getting ready, ceremony and reception took place at Silver Star Ranch which was the most gorgeous place to spend the afternoon. All week I had been watching the weather and the chance of rain during the day would go up, and down every day. Thankfully, the day of the wedding there were clouds but no rain until late that night.
All day the emotions were evident from the moment Brittany’s dad saw her for the first time to the moment when she walked down the aisle to BJ. That told us how special this amazing couple is and how much they truly value each other.
Texas is one of my favorite places and every time I’m there I fall more in love with the beauty, the people and the experiences. I had never visited during the spring and there were miles of wildflowers along the highway. My photographer heart was wishing I could spend a whole week there, but quickly found out that the wildflowers are protected by the state and my dreams of wildflower sessions were not to be. However, the disappointment didn’t last as we pulled in to the venue that was surrounded by ponds and wooded trails, reminiscent of the fairy tale weddings I dreamed about as a child.
With Dallas close by the navy and silver theme of the wedding made sure to celebrate the team that so many love there! Brittany’s dress was one of the most unique styles and I loved the hint of blush that it had. The dress perfectly complimented her accessories and style. She was absolutely stunning and inspired tears from many people throughout the day.
Destination weddings are something that I don’t do a lot of because of the season of life we are now in with three young boys but they are so worth it when I do get to experience them so don’t hesitate to contact me if that’s something you are interested in.
