Kiersten and Matthew planned their snowy wedding day at a lodge overlooking a river in Post Falls, Idaho. Although I had never been to the Ross Point camp and conference center, it quickly became one of my favorite places that I’ve been for a wedding. On the day of their wedding it was supposed to snow significantly but thankfully it only snowed right when I wanted it to and not too much to interfere with the day or the guests who were in attendance.
Kiersten and Matt met in college and from the stories shared it’s evident that they are a perfect match. One of the best parts of a day is seeing how the groom looks at the bride and this one was no exception. Neither of them had the same looks with other people as they did together, it was so special.
I’ve known Kiersten since before she was born and way back in the day when I did pageants, she was my princess every year. Getting to help her get ready before the big stage events helped calm me down probably more than anything else because she was so excited! And the getting ready part of the day immediately took me back to those exciting days!
Kiersten chose a perfect princess gown that was even named after Belle, (who knew there was a Disney wedding dress line?!) which perfectly complimented her and not only had the most glorious train but she also chose this intricate bustle that made it even more Belle-like. I kept calling her the ice princess since there was some wild weather in short bursts throughout the day and thankfully it didn’t even phase them. I’m sure growing up in Alaska prepared Matthew for this celebration. To see just how much snow and weather we had, the bridal party pictures give you plenty of evidence!
This intimate ceremony and reception was attended by their closest friends and family, some who traveled as far away as Alaska. Even though wedding days always have a few things that change-like flowers that get sent to the Midwest instead of your town-it didn’t stop the day from being so calm and enjoyable.
Candid photos are always favorites and this celebration had so many moments to choose from, so I made sure to include some of those for you as well!
